Kochi Metro Project

Situation
  • Kochi Metro Rail Limited is having a new project of Water Metro to connect major locations of Cochin through inland waterways
  • Cochin Shipyard Ltd is building boats for KMRL’s water metro
  • The cargo was two Hull structure of boats designed at Netherlands
  • Initial proposal was to load as partial bulk on deck container vessels from Rotterdam to Cochin
Solution
  • We did a thorough scrutiny of dimensions of the hulls and suggested to stuff both hull structures in a 40’HC container
  • The hulls were stuffed into 40’HC container after providing proper palletisation and lashing of the hulls
  • This shipment was loaded on the direct service from Europe to Cochin
  • Live Tracking Report was provided to KMRL till arrival at Cochin. Yard in Cochin handled the customs clearance and transportation to KMRL’s Muttom yard
